Priestly Misconduct-Common Sense Needed!

Once again we are faced with a Priest who is being accused of sexual misconduct by various people. It is indeed a grave thing to abuse a position of trust and authority and in the past the Catholic Church had failed it's Parishioners.

The Catholic Church has learnt from it's past mistakes and are now tackling this very sensitive issue with diplomacy and the law.

But there also comes to a time for people to use their common sense and not always play the 'perpetual victim card.'

If you write to Cardinal Pell and inform him of a Priests misconduct and he replies the very next day for you to report the matter to the police as well as seek help and support from the 'Towards Healing' run by Ms. Cain which deals with victims of Priestly misconduct and you ignore Cardinal Pells advice what is he supposed to do? Make a citizens arrest?!

Not only did Cardinal Pell encourage the young lady in question he also informed her that he, himself would contact Ms. Cain if the plaintiff failed to do so in order to allow Ms. Cain to help this particular woman.

What more can Cardinal Pell do?

Arcbishop Philip Wilson is now investigating the matter though he was not the Archbishop who ordained this particular Priest, that was Archbishop Faulkner's responsibility. Archbishop Faulkner is now retired.

If you have faced misconduct by a Priest, then yes report it to Church authorities but also take the role of empowerment and make a complaint to the police, yourself.

If a Priest behaves inappropriately towards your person in a way that is offensive, then report him to your local Archbishop. After that make a statement to the Police, seek help from organizations that have been put in place to help heal the wound inflicted by those Priests who have abused their power.

Always there comes a time when common sense and personal responsibility plays a part. If a Priest has behaved in a sexual manner towards your person on several occasions and you are not under age and have the ability to say 'no'. Then why didn't you simply say 'no' and remove yourself from the said Priests proximity?

I abhor all Priests who use their positions in this revolting manner and if the allegations are true then the retired Archbishop Faulkner has some questions to answer and should be held accountable for his decision to Ordain this Priest if he knew of the allegations beforehand.

It is past time for common sense to come into play because I fail to understand why a person who is being abused continues to see their abuser on a regular basis?

Report all misconduct to the police. Let the law come into play and start being pro-active and not the 'victim.'

I support our Priests who faithfully serve the Catholic Church and it's people. I also support our Cardinals who also serve the Church and its people. I am sure it must pain them greviously when one of their own abuses their position of trust.

I was absolutely appalled to read that there is a movie which promotes suicide among teens. We all know the lengths that Hollyweird will go to make money, but to promote suicide as viable is no laughing matter! This movie truly does have satan's fingers all over it. Shame on the producers, director and actors and ALL who promote it! For shame!

Blaspheme In The Pews

I watched Bill O'Reilly this morning and was absolutely shocked and outraged that two active homosexuals who deliberately mock the Catholic Church received the Eucharist.

This is San Francisco a place known for its outrageous conduct, to try and imply that one did not know what was going on is naive in the extreme. Archbishop Niederauer is elderly but how could he not understand that he was looking at two people who came into the Church to create a storm of controversy.

We are the Church Militant yet why do so many behave as if we were the Church Wimps?

If the Catholic Church hierarchy do not take a stand against such outrages then who will?

In our own country Cardinal Pell has come under serious attack for denying the radical homosexual groups the Eucharist. Cardinal Pell stands firm he will not be bulldozed by the left wing radicals, but is he alone in this? Why do so many Priests, Bishops and Cardinals bow down to these radical elements?

Sure, we are all sinners but none should ever receive the Eucharist if they have not repented of their sins through the Sacrament of Confession and received Absolution.

Am I calling for the resignation of Archbishop Niederauer, no. That is going too far, but he does need intensive instruction on how to deal with a situation when confronted by these blasphemous groups.

Prayer is Banned-I Dare YOU To Read It!

This is a statement that was read over the PA system at the football game at Roane County High School in, Tennessee.

"It has always been the custom at Roane County High School football games, to say a prayer and play the National Anthem, to honor God and Country."

Due to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court, I am told that saying a Prayer is a violation of Federal Case Law. As I understand the law at this time, I can use this public facility to approve of sexual perversion and call it "an alternate lifestyle," and if someone is offended, that's OK.

I can use it to condone sexual promiscuity, by dispensing condoms and calling it, "safe sex." If someone is offended, that's OK.

I can even use this public facility to present the merits of killing an unborn baby as a "viable! means of birth control." If someone is offended, no problem...

I can designate a school day as "Earth Day" and involve students in activities to worship religiously and praise the goddess "Mother Earth" and call it "ecology."

I can use literature, videos and presentations in the classroom that depicts people with strong, traditional Christian convictions as "simple minded" and "ignorant" and call it "enlightenment."

However, if anyone uses this facility to honor GOD and to ask HIM to Bless this event with safety and good sportsmanship, then Federal Case Law is violated.

This appears to be inconsistent at best, and at worst,diabolical Apparently, we are to be tolerant of everything and anyone, except GOD and HIS Commandments.

Nevertheless, as a school principal, I frequently ask staff and students to abide by rules with which they do not necessarily agree. For me to do otherwise would be inconsistent at best, and at worst, hypocritical... I suffer from that affliction enough unintentionally. I certainly do not need to add an intentional transgression.

For this reason, I shall "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's," and refrain from praying at this time.

"However, if you feel inspired to honor, praise and thank GOD and ask HIM,in the name of JESUS, to Bless this event, please feel free to do so as far as I know, that's not against the law----yet."

One by one, the people in the stands bowed their heads, held hands with one another and began to pray.

They prayed in the stands. They prayed in the team huddles. They prayed at the concession stand and they prayed in the Announcer's Box!

The only place they didn't pray was in the Supreme Court of the United States of America - the Seat of "Justice" in the "one nation, under GOD."

Somehow, Kingston, Tennessee Remembered what so many have forgotten. We are given the Freedom of Religion, not the Freedom FROM Religion. Praise GOD that this remnant remains!

JESUS said, "If you are ashamed of ME before men, then I will be ashamed of you before MY FATHER."

If you are not ashamed, pass this on.

I'm not one bit ashamed to pass this on, Are you?

Art For Blasphemous Sake!

I am tired of these so called 'artistes' that deliberately set out to upset Christians. They do this by painting provocative portraits or other means of 'artistic expressions' in a blasphemous manner.

Jesus is now portrayed as Osama bin Laden, there is a statue of our Lady dressed in a Burqa and another statue of our Lady with a condom over it! I could go on with this disgusting display of Anti-Christian bile!

What has me incensed is that these very same 'artistes' would NOT dare display Mohammed in the same manner. Why? Because the radical Islamists would have them on a hit list such as Salman Rushdie. No art gallery or museum would show it either. Again why? Because their galleries and museums would be blown up!

Cardinal George Pell said the works demonstrate that some contemporary art is "tedious and trivial". So say we all!

I am tired of this Anti-Christian bias. Are you?

Chastity Ring Banned From School

A young girl from England has been fighting for the right to wear a chastity ring, though I applaud her courage it does concern me that she may be bullied for her stance against loose morals.

It does seem to be a case of unfair discrimination in that it is only a ring, not a banner. Is the school authorities Anti-Christian by opposing this young girl from wearing the ring? Is it a case of different policies for different relgions? At the same school Muslim and Sikh students are allowed to wear their headscarfes and religious bracelets as an expression of their belief system.

Surely if they have banned Lydia from wearing her chastity ring then why have they not taken this stance across the board and banned all Faiths from wearing religious items?

I admire Lydia's courageous stand in taking on the authorities for discrimination but I am also concerned for her wellbeing. What if she is bullied by other students for wearing the ring? Again, what if young boy's see the ring as some type of macho challenge or competition to see if Lydia can hold true to her faith?

I would like to know what both mothers and fathers think of Lydia's bravery? And would you allow your daughter to do the same thing?

I see this as yet another attempt by the secular minority to impose their views on Christianity and Christians. It is an attack on our Faith and should we tolerate it?

Lydia seems to be a young girl of immense strength of character I pray that she will be victorious.

Are Men Getting A Raw Deal?

When the 'feminists revolution' hit society it was like a nuclear explosion. What was before was no longer now. Everything had changed including women's attitudes to traditional roles, but where did that leave men?

During the years radical feminists have portrayed men as lying, cheating brutes intent on keeping women 'in their place'. Because of this false impression women's personalities took on an almost masculine exterior, gone was any sign of femininity.

During the generations things calmed down. Some famous feminists even re-canted their previous positions, but did things improve for men?

In a recent article by Christine Whelan, she has espoused a theory that men are no longer seen as brutes but as idiots. This is shown on TV programes such as 'The Simpsons', 'Everybody Loves Raymond', 'The King of Queens' etc. These TV shows portray women as smart and sassy while the men are dim witted fools. After reading her article I admit there is validation for Ms Whelan's theory.

I remember in particlar a reality TV where women were encouraged to treat and train their husbands as they would their pet dogs. I only watched it once in that I personally found it demeaning to ALL men. Though the show was meant to be tongue in cheek humour, I failed to laugh once.

Do women really want their husbands to be lap dogs, begging their wives for a 'treat'(sex) and if the husband behaves well she will be agreeable to accommodate her husbands 'needs'? This whole idea demeans the role of marriage. Sex should never be used as a weapon in the marital bed.

Society and the media seemed to have gone from one extreme to another. First men were male chauvinist pigs now they are portrayed as morons who cant count to ten nor pronounce their A B C's.

Did the feminists movement die down or did it just change coats?

Armchair Soldiers-Revisionist Historians

I am getting really tired of arm chair soldiers, who write large tomes describing Allied soldiers as 'war criminals'.

Let us get things straight. War is evil, it is a dreadful thing to wage war on another nation in order to rule it by force. It is an evil thing to bomb cities and other area's without warning them. It is also a great evil to invade other Nations by bombing them in massive bombing raids, including countries deemed 'neutral', such as Holland.

All these evil actions were done by the German Government of 1939, against innocent populace. They didnt waste time worrying about the 'feelings' of the oppressed. The National Socialists also paid little heed to their own 'Peace Pacts' which they had signed with another Nation. If other countries were foolish enough to trust the German Chancellor of the time, well more fool them! In order to honour an agreement you have to possess that quality, Adolf Hitler was not an 'honourable man', lest historions forget!

America during these tumultuous years were not at war with any other Nation. War was thrust upon them when another Empire decided that they also wanted a slice of the global cake which Germany was bingeing on and bombed Pearl Harbour in 1941, without warning. We must also remember that America did NOT declar war on Germany. Germany declared war on America!

War is brutal, it is unforgiving and it is waged unto death. There is nothing 'pretty' about war. Innocent people die, others are tortured and once the dogs of war are loosed there are NO winners! Bombs rain down on the oppressors and the oppressed in equal measure.

Can anyone not imagine the blood drenched beaches of Normandy with the slaughter of British and America's youth being spent in the sea and think that is victory? Can we look at the carnage of the Kokoda trail and the bloody warfare waged there and think there is victory? Can we say after the death of millions of people in death camps, that there was a victory? The Nazi mass murder machine was stopped but is the loss of over 6 million Jewish people and millions more from various countries called a victory?

Is it realistic to say that the British and American soldiers who were freed from Japanese concentration camps, starved almost unto death, tortured, beaten and brutalised, were victors? Were the women prisoners who had been raped for years by Japanese soldiers victorious upon their release from such a hell?

Is it a victory when upon defeating the Nazi German 'War Machine' half of Europe was given to yet another evil despot, Stalin?

British, American, Australian and European Mothers and Fathers wept for their dead sons. Can holding a flag take the place of their beloved sons?

Do not correct the soldiers who fought a war which was thrust upon them. Also do not condemn those who sacrificed their lives in a war they did not wage, lest their death be in vain.

War is war who on earth though it fair?

And in the end is it correct to write about such events when the 'arm chair soldiers' were NOT involved, did NOT fight and did NOT suffer?

Princess Diana-Dying for Ratings

I am totally appalled at a British TV channel which is going to show a program of the late Princess Diana, which shows her dying in the back seat of her car.

How is this going to help anyone? If it is being done to try and excuse the abysmal behaviour of the Paparazzi they can save their breath there is NO saving those who pursue celebrities sometimes to their death.

We well know that not only was Diana the 'Peoples Princess' she was also the 'Press Princess' and many in that medium made a lot of money from the late Princess. But to now try and prophet from her death is disgusting.

If the program airs on Australia TV I will personally boycott the program as well as notifying the particular channel of my displeasure and disgust. I just hope that the British public will do the same.

Princess Diana may have lived her life on the front pages of many papers but please at least let her death have some form of dignity....I do not need to see this tragic woman dying in the back seat of her car. Enough is enough!

Rosie VS Elisabeth-My View

I dont know about the rest of you but I am FED up with the inane rantings of one, Rosie O'Donnell. Now I dont mind a person who expresses a different view point than my own, hence I do listen to Joy Behar, who can be witty if at times outrageous. But there is a BIG difference with having an opinion and being a down right bully. Rosie is a BULLY! Not because she is 'gay', or because she is well rounded, what a person looks like doesnt worry me, but I DO care about bullying!

For months now Elisabeth Hasselbeck has had to tolerate the viscious attacks vented on her by her 'friend' Rosie O'Donnell. The REAL reason for these attacks was made clear today by Rosies own words and it has ZERO to do with the war on Iraq. To put it in a nutshell, Rosie O'Donnel is jealous of Elisabeth.

"Here’s how it gets spun in the media: Rosie – big, fat, lesbian loud Rosie -- attacks innocent, pure Christian Elisabeth." In this sentence lay the REAL reason why Rosie cannot stand Elisabeth, because Elisabeth represents how many people envision 'the perfect couple'. Elisabeth is everything that Rosie is NOT and that is not Elisabeth's fault.

I also will not let Barbara Walters off the hook, what on earth was that woman thinking??? It beggars belief! Did she not get the memo that when Rosie had her own show it was cancelled, mainly because of her outrageous and weird views on every topic imaginable. This is a woman who hates her own country and makes it obvious! But I have sat and watched Barbara simper up to Rosie over the past few weeks, why? Guilty concience Barbara?

Lets look at some of Rosie's outlandish comments, that Christians are as dangerous as Islamofacists, why? Because the Catholic Church and other denominations refuse to accept Gay marriages? I havent seen any Christians take over planes and drive them into Muslim buildings, killing their innocent citizens!

Rosie accused Elisabeth of 'double speak' now let us look at this...Rosie tells the audience that 650,000 innocent Iraqi's have been killed, and to paraphrase her, 'isn't that an act of terror'? Who is Rosie referring too, tourists? Christians? Housewives? Let me think what Americans are in Iraq? Oh yea U.S soldiers. But Rosie didn't SAY American soldiers, NO! Because she is too cowardly instead she insinuates it then smirks at her own 'cleverness'. Where does this woman get her stats from anyway...stats4reallystupidppl.com?

On another episode Rosie was pulled over the coals by Kelly Ripa who had the courage to phone into the show and NOT allow Rosie to get away with yet another outrageous insinuation that Kelly was a 'homophobic'. Rosie was left with egg on her face and it showed!

Then we had the edifying event where Rosie hosted the Women in The Media event. Here there is noone else to blame except Rosie and her crude sense of humour where she points to her anatomy and makes an indecent suggestion to Donald Trump!

Rosie O'Donnell doesnt need any enemies she IS her own worst enemy. A woman who hates her own country who makes outrageous claims that 'the American Government was behind the attacks on September 11th'? Huh? Didnt Rosie also say that President Bush was 'stupid', yet he is smart enough to not only fool the American people but the entire world. Get a GRIP Rosie!

I was proud of the way Elisabeth Hasselbeck handled herself today, she stood her ground and didnt have to scream like a fish wife to do so, she left that to Rosie.

Time to go Rosie BUH BYE! And not a moment too soon for many of us!
