Allah Or The Lord Jesus Christ?

The Muslim religion is the fastest growing religion in Australia.
Last month I attended my annual training session that's required for maintaining my prison security clearance. During the training session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Anglican and Muslim faiths, who explained each of their beliefs.
I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say. The Imam gave a gret presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with video.
After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers.
When it was my turn, I directed my questions to the Imam and asked: "Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad(Holy War)against the infidel(which is a command to all Muslims)they are assured of a place in Heaven. If that's the case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?'
There was no disagreement with my statements and, without hesitaton, he replied, 'Non-believers!'
I responded, 'So, let us make sure I have this straight. All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they can have a place in heaven. Is that correct?'
The expresssion on his face changed from one of authority and command to that of 'a little boy who had just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.'
He sheepishly replied, 'yes.'
I then stated, 'Well sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine Pope Benedict XVI commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or the Archbishop of Canterbury ordering all Anglicans to do the same in order to guarantee them a place in heaven!'
The Imam was speechless!
I continued, 'I also have a problem with being your 'friend' when you and your brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me! Let me ask you a question. Would you rather have your Allah, who tells you to kill me in order for you to go to heaven, or my Jesus who tells me to love you because I am going to heaven and He wants you to be there with me?'
You could have heard a pin drop as the Imam hung his head in shame. Needless to say, the organizers and/or promoters of the 'diversification' training seminar were not happy with this way of dealing with the Islamic Imam and exposing the truth about Muslim beliefs.
In twenty years time there will be enough Muslim voters in Australia(and many other countries) to elect a government of their choice, complete with Shari Law.
These are facts which the liberal media will not tell you so I just did.

Obama-Abortion & The Nazification of America
"They may use contraceptives or practice abortion-the more the better. In veiw of the large families of the native population it could only suit us if girls and women there had as many abortions as possible. Active trade in contraceptives out to be actually encouraged in the Eastern territories, as we could not possibly have the slightest interest in increasing the non-Germanic population." Adolf Hitler
Preventing Unintended Pregnancy: President Obama was an original co-sponsor of legislation to expand access to contraception, health information, and preventive services to help reduce unintended pregnancies. Introduced in January 2007, the Prevention First Act will increase funding for family planning and comprehensive sex education that teaches both abstinence and safe sex methods. The Act will also end insurance discrimination against contraception, improve awareness about emergency contraception, and provide compassionate assistance to rape victims.
"When girls and women in the Occupied Territories of the East have abortions, we can only be in favor of it; in any case we should not oppose it. The Fuhrer belives that we should authorize the development in a thriving trade in contraceptives. We are not interested in seeing the non-German population multiply." Martin Bormann
Supports a Woman's Right to Choose: President Obama understands that abortion is a divisive issue, and respects those who disagree with him. However, he has been a consistent champion of reproductive choice and will make preserving women's rights under Roe v. Wade a priority in his Adminstration. He opposes any constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court's decision in that case.
"I think it's very hard to know what that means, when life begins. Is it when a cell separates? Is it when the soul stirs? So I don't presume to know the answer to that question."The then Senator Barack Obama.
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you came to birth I consecrated you." Jeremiah 1:5
You must banish all shedding of innocent blood from among you if you mean to do what is right in the eyes of Yahweh. Deuteronomy: 21:9
The ancient inhabitants of your holy land you hated for their loathsome practices, their deeds of sorcery and unholy rites, hated as ruthless murderers of children, as eaters of entrails at feasts of human flesh, initiated while the bloody orgy goes on, as murderous parents of defenseless beings. Standing Up For Sarah Palin

The new sport in Washington these days is not watching the President Elect, no. The new sport is how to destroy Sarah Palin while keeping the Republican Party on life support.
This unedifying display is the worst case of political cannibalism I have seen in decades. Hannibal Lector himself would fair better than Governor Sarah Palin at the moment.
Why are members of John McCains campaign 'team' now bent on destroying this remarkable woman? Why are many Republicans silent including John McCain himself?
Because they fear her.
Sarah Palin is a polarizing force who promises to bring change to Washington. The problem is noone wants this change including the GOP. They also have vested interests and they know that Governor Palin is made of stern stuff who will not follow in their wake but lead them to a new landscape.
A landscape where they will no longer be serving themselves but serving their country. Where vested interests will be bypassed for the best interests of the majority of American citizens.
Sarah Palin promises change but both Republican Party & the Democrats want to stay the same.
This woman galvanized a people who were longing for change and for straight talk. With Sarah Palin one didn't need to read past the 'spin' this is a woman of remarkable character who says it how it is and the majority of Americans loved it.
Sarah Palin is as polarizing as Barack Obama but unlike the President Elect, Governor Palin has substance and credibility. Sarah also has charisma and an ability to reach out and connect with ordinary Americans.
This is why many fat cat politicians fear her, including her own Party.
President Elect Obama is all talk when it comes to 'change' but with Governor Palin she meant real change and not the small change which President Obama will bring.
In the words of Machiavelli:
"A return to first principles in a republic is sometimes caused by the simple virtues of one man. His good example has such an influence that the good men strive to imitate him, and the wicked are ashamed to lead a life so contrary to his example."
Sarah Palin is a power to be reckoned with, and her enemies know this, hence their need to destroy her, she represents to them everything they lack and is a reminder of their own inner corruption.
But a warning for those who voted for Barack Obama...
"Men are so simple and so much inclined to obey immediate needs that a deceiver will never lack victims for his deceptions." Niccolo Machiavelli
If Sarah Palin is ever elected President then Washington will never be the same again, and that will be a good thing.
What do YOU think about the attacks on Sarah Palin?

SELFish Voting Or SelfLESS voting
As Americans prepare to enter the ballot box they need to ask the question am I voting for selfish reasons or selfless reasons? In other words is it a case of ME first in a ME first generation.
We live in a time where the question is not "ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country." Instead the mantra of today is 'what's in it for me.'
Before you vote ask yourself which candidate will be the one who will do their best to protect the most vulnerable citizens in America, the unborn?
Is it Senator John McCain who is Pro-Life or Senator Obama who is Pro-Death?
Then ask the next question who is the most qualified to protect American security within your own borders and overseas?
Is it Senator McCain who believes in Military strength to defeat your enemies or is it Senator Obama who wishes to cut military spending at a time of war?
The next question to ask is this, what happens if a vacancy were to occur and a new Supreme Court Judge needed to be nominated. Who would be most likely to appoint a Pro-Life Surpreme Court Judge?
Would it be Senator McCain who is Pro-Life or Senator Obama who is Pro-Abortion?
When it comes to the economy ask yourself who has fought against big spending Government and who promises to stop the fiscal policies that have devastated the Amerian economy?
Will it be Senator John McCain who has spent his entire career trying to stop pork barrel spending or Senator Obama who spent nearly one BILLION dollars in his 3 short Senatorial years?
As for character ask yourself which man has been tested during his life time and during that test embraced and believes that America is a Great Nation?
Is it Senator McCain who gave his blood, sweat and tears in defense of America and it's freedoms or Senator Obama, who thinks America isn't great yet?
Voting is important and so are the reasons for your vote. The worst thing a voter can do is to think in terms of 'who is going to look after my own self interests, who is going to give me MORE.'

Who Is Barack Obama?
Who is Barack Obama?
Nobody knows.
That's right you haven't read it wrong. Absolutely noone knows who Barack Obama is.
For those who are considering voting for Barack Obama, ask yourself this. Who is he? What is his background? What is his history? Who are his friends?
Now Joe the Plumber asked a simple but relevent question which for the first time in his campaign Senator Obama answered him with honesty, he believes in the redistribution of wealth.
We now know that Senator Obama actually told the truth and forgot to lie. The Senator then spent the next week or so disparaging this working class man. Why?
Does he consider himself to elitist to have to answer to a voter what his policies are? Or doesn't he know himself?
We do know that Senator Obama voted 'present' 129 times. Is he that unsure of himself? Is he that undecided about issues that he literally can't make a decision?
Will he be a 'present' or absent President?
Apart from voting 'present' what did Obama vote for or against?
He stood out against his fellow Democratic Senators such as Hillary Clinton, John Kerry and Barbar Boxer(to name a few) and voted against the 'Born Alive Infants' law, where babies who survive abortions would be treated as persons in their own right. Senator Obama used the lame excuse that he didn't like the 'wording' so he voted against it. He just didnt vote against it once, no, he voted against it twice.
How many born alive babies will die if he becomes President?
Senator Obama claims to be a believing Christian and yet he shows a constant tendency to deride Scripture as 'blase' and that those who wish to follow God's Commandments are people who "get bitter, they cling to guns or religion … as a way to explain their frustrations."
Is that really how Senator Obama views people who have a devout faith?
What about his beliefs?
"The dangers of secterianism are greater than ever. Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation, at least not just. We are also a Jewish Nation, a Muslim Nation, a Buddhist Nation and a Hindu Nation and a Nation of non believers." Barack Obama.
What about the Moonies? And the Hare Krishna's? They will feel so left out of your, all faith is faith, right? Wrong!
"Which passages of scripture should guide our public policy should we go to Leviticus which suggests slavery's OK or that eating shell fish is an abomination...."Barack Obama
What about 'You shall not kill!' Or is that too literal for the Senator?
Then there is this, "You shall not covet your neighbor's goods!"
What is the Senator's idea's about that one, redistribute your goods, perhaps?
You see in Senator Obama's world he doesn't think he has to answer to God. No! He thinks God should answer to him!
Who is Senator Obama?
Does anyone know?
Do YOU know?

OBAMA's Objective-Who is Next?
Thanks Ebeth for inspiring the words on this pic. Is anyone safe IF Obama becomes President? If he believes in killing the youngest unborn citizens, what's to stop him from killing the elders in our communities?

Pro-Choice & Catholic? The New Barbarians!
Many make the mistake of thinking because an issue has become Law then it must be right. Let us take a look at some man made laws and decide.
The Catholics in Ireland even though they were native to that country suffered greatly under the Penal Laws. They were not allowed to teach their children the Catholic Faith, it was unlawful to have Catholic run schools, nor were they allowed to send their children overseas so they could be taught the faith. Catholics were also not allowed to marry Prostestants in that they were not allowed to inherit land. Catholics could not own property, arms, or even a horse(if it were more than five pounds). They were also not allowed to openly worship as Catholics due to suppression of their Catholic beliefs. Neither could they hold public office, vote or practice law.
These were once the law of the land in Ireland but did it make it right?
At one time in America white Americans were allowed to own slaves, at that time it was the law of the land. To own another person was considered right and proper and the Negroe's were considered by many to be subhuman. Because it was the law at one time to own slaves did it make it right?
Do many Americans consider this once strong law right or heinous?
In Nazi Germany it was the law of the land to condemn people based on their religion, they were Jewish. The Nuremberg Laws stated that German Jews were not to be considered German citizens and their citizenship was revoked making them 'subjects to the state'. Jews were also not allowed to marry or engage in sexual activity with an 'Aryan.' Eventually the Nazi's simply deprived the Jews of their human rights as human beings.
Were the Nazi's right and correct in their persecution of the Jewish people, after all they had made it a law?
Now we have Roe V Wade, it is now Law but is it right to kill the unborn because a couple consider it to be an inconvenience and the Government has stipulated it as a non-person?
Just because man has made a 'law' doesn't mean it is right especially if it is against the Moral Law of God being the Ten Commandments. What right does anyone have in pertaining to when a person becomes a person? God has already made that decision; "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you came to birth I consecrated you." Jeremiah 1:5
And the Catholic Churches Teaching is irrevocable on the issue of Abortion: "Since the first century the church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to moral law.You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish.God, the Lord of life , has entrusted to men the noble mission of safeguarding life, and men must carry it out in a manner worthy of themselves. Life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception: abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes. 2271 Catechism of the Catholic Church."
Now as enlightened citizens we look back at past laws in horror. The persecution of Catholics in Ireland, the abhorrence of the slave trade, the evils of the Nazi holocaust perpetrated on the Jewish people.
What will future citizens centuries from now think of a people that murdered the unborn? That left babies who by chance suvived abortion only to be left in cold rooms to die alone, unloved and unwanted.
Are we enlightened human beings or the new barbarians?

Team Sarah

Esther sent me a link to day to join Team Sarah. Thankyou Esther I did indeed join 'Catholics for Sarah.' I cannot believe the level of attacks this poor woman is enduring and am glad that John McCain chose her so late in the game as I am not sure the poor Governor can take much more. But Sarah is tough, she is no wimp, but enough is enough!
Please think about joining Team Sarah for it is Pro-Life and may God bless their work.
Peace

Sarah Palin & Barack Obama-World Views

I find it amusing to see the 'feminist brigade' out in force denouncing Governor Palin for daring to be a working wife and mother. Am I missing something here? Have not the feminists applauded Hillary Clinton for maintaining her career seperate to her husband's while having a child at home and yet Senator Clinton is seen as a 'feminist heroine?'
Due to a tragic event in the life of Senator Biden the Senator found himself to be a single father. It is his right that he chose to remain a Senator while looking after his children and it is obvious he is a devoted father and Grandfather. The fact that he made sure he returned each evening to his family is commendable, but Governor Sarah Palin also returned to her home once her work was completed.
Why is one person hailed as a hero and another denounced?
Then we have Senator Obama and his 'experience.' Yes, I agree, Senator Obama does enjoy a massive amount of experience and knowledge in how to defeat bills that oppose abortion. He is an expert at double talk without actually committing himself to a permanent position, lest he may have to flip flop in the future.
When asked the question about a baby's rights Senator Obama glibly stated, "I'm absolutely convinced that there is a moral and ethical element to this issue." Yes, there is Senator but what exactly is your answer to the above question? Glib comments are not opinions. Once again when questioned Obama stated that to answer that question was "above his pay grade." Really? As always with Senator Obama his pay grade speaks louder than his principles or lack thereof.
"Under her (Governor Sarah Palin) leadership, Alaska invested $5 billion in state savings, overhauled education funding, and implemented the Senior Benefits Program that provides support for low-income older Alaskans. She created Alaska’s Petroleum Systems Integrity Office to provide oversight and maintenance of oil and gas equipment, facilities and infrastructure, and the Climate Change Subcabinet to prepare a climate change strategy for Alaska."
That's called making decisions not in one's own self interest but with the interest of the people whom she was serving, the people of Alaska.
But Senator Obama was also busy in opposing the ban on Post Partial Abortions, he wanted it to remain. The Senator also supported infanticide, so yes, one can say he has a been busy man.
One has to concede though that Senator Obama means how he votes, he is on record stating that if his daughter made a mistake he would not want her to be "punished with a baby." So it's a case of killing one's own, rather than face up to responsibilities and be held accountable.
Governor Palin on the other hand is supporting her pregnant daughter who stepped up to the plate and decided to become a responsible human being and raise her unborn child with her soon to be husband. Sarah Palin doesn't see her soon to be born grandchild as a 'punishment' but instead see's it as a blessing. That's the difference.
As Michelle Obama so eloquently stated, "Who among the candidates running for the Senate of Illinois has stood up to the right wing politicians and voted against their agenda? Who can we count on to keep the Bush/Ashcroft team from appointing the Supreme Court Justice that will vote against Roe V Wade?"
Who indeed? Senator Obama truly does shine when it comes to defending abortions. Nobody does it better than Senator Obama.
My own personal opinion on the vitriolic attacks on Sarah Palin is due to the fact that she and her husband decided to keep their Down Syndrome baby. This flies in the face of every Pro-Abortion candidate and those who support abortions, isn't their motto that if it is not 'normal' then abort?
Once again Sarah see's her new baby as a blessing and Trig is indeed a blessing from God to the Palin family. Again that is the difference between the Obama family and the Palin family.

Do you see the difference?

Priestly Misconduct-Common Sense Needed!

Once again we are faced with a Priest who is being accused of sexual misconduct by various people. It is indeed a grave thing to abuse a position of trust and authority and in the past the Catholic Church had failed it's Parishioners.
The Catholic Church has learnt from it's past mistakes and are now tackling this very sensitive issue with diplomacy and the law.
But there also comes to a time for people to use their common sense and not always play the 'perpetual victim card.'
If you write to Cardinal Pell and inform him of a Priests misconduct and he replies the very next day for you to report the matter to the police as well as seek help and support from the 'Towards Healing' run by Ms. Cain which deals with victims of Priestly misconduct and you ignore Cardinal Pells advice what is he supposed to do? Make a citizens arrest?!
Not only did Cardinal Pell encourage the young lady in question he also informed her that he, himself would contact Ms. Cain if the plaintiff failed to do so in order to allow Ms. Cain to help this particular woman.
What more can Cardinal Pell do?
Arcbishop Philip Wilson is now investigating the matter though he was not the Archbishop who ordained this particular Priest, that was Archbishop Faulkner's responsibility. Archbishop Faulkner is now retired.
If you have faced misconduct by a Priest, then yes report it to Church authorities but also take the role of empowerment and make a complaint to the police, yourself.
If a Priest behaves inappropriately towards your person in a way that is offensive, then report him to your local Archbishop. After that make a statement to the Police, seek help from organizations that have been put in place to help heal the wound inflicted by those Priests who have abused their power.
Always there comes a time when common sense and personal responsibility plays a part. If a Priest has behaved in a sexual manner towards your person on several occasions and you are not under age and have the ability to say 'no'. Then why didn't you simply say 'no' and remove yourself from the said Priests proximity?
I abhor all Priests who use their positions in this revolting manner and if the allegations are true then the retired Archbishop Faulkner has some questions to answer and should be held accountable for his decision to Ordain this Priest if he knew of the allegations beforehand.
It is past time for common sense to come into play because I fail to understand why a person who is being abused continues to see their abuser on a regular basis?
Report all misconduct to the police. Let the law come into play and start being pro-active and not the 'victim.'

Hitler, Sanger, Obama & Pelosi VS The Bible & The CCC

"This is in keeping with the humanitarianism which, to avoid hurting one individual, lets a hundred others perish. The demand that defective people be prevented from propagating equally defective offspring is a demand of the clearest reason and if systematically executed represents the most humane act of mankind."Adolf Hitler. - Mein Kampf
". . .we prefer the policy of immediate sterilizarion, of making sure that parenthood is ' absolutely prohibed ' to the feeble-minded."Margaret Sanger The Pivot of Civilization
"The danger to the community of the unsegregated feeble-minded woman is more evident. Most dangerous are the middle and high grades living at large who, despite the fact that their defect is not easily recognizable, should nevertheless be prevented from procreation. . . In my view we should act without delay." Dr. Ernst Rubin head of Nazi Germany's eugenics program.
"I think it's very hard to know what that means, when life begins. Is it when a cell separates? Is it when the soul stirs? So I don't presume to know the answer to that question."Senator Barack Obama.
"We also recognize the importance of good medical care for women, that we're also recognizing the importance of age-appropriate education to reduce risks. I do believe that contraception has to be part of that education process." Senator Barack Obama.
"I think that most Americans recognize that this is a profoundly difficult issue(partial-birth abortion) for the women and families who make these decisions. They don't make them casually. And I trust women to make these decisions in conjunction with their doctors and their families and their clergy. And I think that's where most Americans are."Senator Barack Obama
"As I understand it, this puts the burden on the attending physician who has determined, since they were performing this procedure, that, in fact, this is a nonviable fetus; that if that fetus, or child - however way you want to describe it - is now outside the mother's womb and the doctor continues to think that it's nonviable but there's, let's say, movement or some indication that, in fact, they're not just coming out limp and dead, that, in fact, they would then have to call a second physician to monitor and check off and make sure that this is not a live child that could be saved." Senator Barack Obama
"As an ardent practicing Catholic, uh, this is an issue that I have studied for a long time. And what I know is over the centuries, the doctors of the church have not been able to make that definition, and, uh, Senator -- uh, I'm -- Senator -- Uh, St. Augustin' (sic) said at three months. We don't know. The point is is that it shouldn't have an impact on a woman's right to choose. Roe v. Wade talks about very clear definitions of when the child -- uh, eh, er, first trimester, certain considerations second trimester, not so third trimester. The -- the -- there's very clear distinctions." Nancy Pelosi
"And this is, like, 50 years or something like that. So again, over the history, uh, of the church, this is an issue of, uh, controversy." Nancy Pelosi
"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State." Joseph Goebbels
The Bible and The Catholic Church
"True, I was born guilty, a sinner, even as my mother conceived me." Psalm 51:7
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you came to birth I consecrated you." Jeremiah 1:5
"When he issued the decrees for Jacob and instituted a Law in Israel, he gave our ancestors strict orders to teach it to their children; the next generation was to learn it, the children still to be born.." Psalm 78:5-6
You shall not kill. Exodus: 20:13
You must banish all shedding of innocent blood from among you if you mean to do what is right in the eyes of Yahweh. Deuteronomy: 21:9
You (Yahweh) never consent to that corrupt tribunal that imposes disorder as law, that takes the life of the virtuous and condemns the innocent to death. Psalms: 94:20-21
Wisdom: 12:3-6
Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his or her existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person - among which is the inviolable right of every innocent human being to life. 2270 Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Since the first century the church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. 2271 Catechism of the Catholic Church
"Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remains for ever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can under any circumstance claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being." 2258 Catechism of the Catholic Church.
"Many say that such a system could never happen here. Sixty years ago, the Nazis declared that "inferior" races needed to be eliminated. The U.S. Supreme Court in 1973 ruled that the unborn human being could be exterminated legally. Declaring a human being to be a non-person is on the same level as the Nazi Nuremberg laws that made discrimination against Jews legal and set the stage for mass murder."
The Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion is actually a Nazi-type law. It is completely in the spirit of the Nazis; that is, it contains the elements of moral relativity and contempt for human life that characterized the Hitler regime."

Obama's Hurricane of Change

Senator Barack Obama has stated over and over that he will bring change to America. Just how much change can America take?
Once it was illegal to murder the unborn, now it is a right. America changed.
Once it was illegal to swear in movies or on TV or show graphic sex scenes, now it is considered art. America changed.
Once modesty was considered a virtue, now people can wear what they choose no matter how inappropriate. America changed.
Once homosexuality was seen as an unnatural act between people of the same sex, now it is a lifestyle choice. America changed.
Once every child prayed in school now it is outlawed. Prayer is gone and guns are in. America changed.
Once having the Ten Commandments in a public building was a sign of respect, now they are removed. America changed.
Once life was held as sacred now it is legal to kill the infirm. America changed.
If the Senator truly wishes to bring about change then do the following.
Make abortion illegal and the rights of the unborn the top priority. That would be change.
Impose laws against the use of profanities in movies and on TV. Impose heavy fines on movies or programmes that include graphic sex scenes. That would be change.
Encourage people to dress appropriately. That would be change.
Reinstate the law against the act of homosexuality. That would be change.
Reinstate prayer and religious instructions into the school room. That would be change.
Guard and protect the right to display the Ten Commandments on Government buildings. That would be change.
Protect the rights of the infirm irrespective of how ill they are. That would be change.
So what change's is Senator Obama referring too? A change for the better or a change for the worse? You decide.
"They have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind."(Hosea 8:7)

A New Dickensian World

How far away are we from re-living a Dickensian world? Where Oliver Twist is born an orphan to an unmarried mother and ends up working for the evil Fagin, it is here that Oliver learns to run with the likes of the 'artful dodger.' These days of course Oliver would belong to a gang where violence is the name of the game and children as young as ten kill for fun. If life was cheap in Victorian England, it is even cheaper now.
Many parents have abdicated responsibility so they can live their lives free of commitment, which leaves their children devoid of any knowledge of affection or love. Their learning is done on the streets, should we be surprised then if we find ourselves surrounded by miniature barbarians? Only a few years ago tourists going to Russia were warned not to wear brand names on their person lest they find their throats slit for a brand of Nike Shoes.
We leave much of the responsiblity for these youths to Governments, how far have they succeeded? These children are passed from one foster home to another and as we know many fall through the cracks in the system. The cracks are becoming the Grand Canyon, do we care?
If in Victorian times you had a job you also lived with the threat of being one pay cheque away from being on the streets. There were no sick days, no vacations and pray God your children did not get sick. You could afford lace curtains at your window's but not a doctor at your door.
Now parents work up to three jobs and barely see their children as they try and support their families in order to afford the basics for them. These parents are not working for fun, they work so they can afford health insurance, they work in the hope of sending their children to College and to plan for their own retirement. All of this is done to keep the wolves at bay but the wolves are howling at the door.
There are many families who are one pay cheque away from being on the streets.
Centuries have passed and still there is no answer to the problem of poverty and it's viscious cycle mainly because consecutive governments place the problem in the 'too hard box,' after all many homeless don't vote!
Having worked among the homeless and families who are considered borderline poverty I have seen where giving people driblets and droplets simply doesn't work. If anything it merely helps the poor to remain exactly where they are, never able to get ahead and only just managing to keep a roof over their heads. As we strip them of their basic rights, to believe in themselves and to maintain their dignity.
Poverty is viscious, it is meanspirited and it shows no mercy towards anyone.
When it comes to poverty we have become numb, we see the homeless as a faceless mob who irritate our conscience not because we are uncaring but because we do not know how to help.
Organized charities are also not much good in making real change, much of your donations go towards administration costs. These charities dispense food vouchers as miserly as Scrooge counted his money. If a mother of 2/3/4 children comes to a charity seeking help because she may have bills in the amount of $ 500 or more and these mothers are given a $20 food voucher, what help is that? The following week the same mother is back begging for another voucher. Where is the dignity?
It is a fundamental human right that people are housed, clothed, educated and fed. When did these essentials become luxuries meant for the few?
We have money to send rockets to the Moon and now Mars, billions of dollars spent so we can see grainy pictures of a desert. Governments find the money for war, but not for the poor.
We have our priorities wrong.
When we turn away from the poor we turn away from Christ.
Are we a loving and compassionate people? Do we take the example shown by our Lord and Saviour seriously or do we give mere lip service when we hear the cries of the downcast and broken hearted? Do we listen or do we preach at people from a comfortable position of privilege?
An alcoholic or a drug abuser do not need lectures on the evils of drinking and drug taking, they are already in their own private hell, do not heap coals upon their head. When was the last time you conversed with a homeless person? When was the last time you volunteered to work in a homeless shelter?
We need to rise to the challenge when it comes to tackling poverty as did Blessed Frederic Ozanam, who not only gave assistance to the poor but ennobled them by his friendship. Being poor is not a crime, but withholding our help from those in need shows a flagrant disregard for the Teachings of the Gospel and the Church.
Going to Mass once a week does not make a Christian if we fail to live the Gospel Message, in our daily lives.
Frederic was not a dreamer, and he understood that though he may not be able to assist everyone, he could help one person and then another and so it goes on, as Frederic said, "If we are too young to intervene in the social struggle, are we then to remain passive in the middle of a world which is suffering and groaning? No, a preparatory path is open to us. Before doing public good, we can try to do good to a few...We can give relief to a few of her poor."
This young man also understood that in order to render true and sincere charity it must begin by making the giver, the servant of the poor. This is the central core and the entire heart of authentic charity, for it is not about what we give but why we give. This is the central theme, to give from from our hearts to those whose hearts have been broken by life and its cruelties.
Charity is spirit and unless we understand this we will fail to fulfill its Divine purpose, which is not to make your life better but to enrich others by giving them your full attention and love. We can all speak of charity but if that is all we do, then it is mere empty words in a world which has grown bloated with self importance and 'catchy phraseology'.
The next time you see a homeless lady or gentlemen will you be one of the turning away? Or will you be the one who came back?

A Radical Love-Homeless Part One
The love you have for Christ is measured by the love you have for those who are considered least amongst us (And many that are first, shall be last: and the last shall be first. Matthew 19:30). God does not count how many times we go to Mass but rather He looks at the intent. Do we go to Mass to fulfill a duty or for Love alone?
Is going to Mass all we do? Is that all God requires from each of us?
Or are we being called to be revolutionaries of love? Designed to set the world on fire by the love we show towards those who are considered beneath us, the anawim and in many cases, the unwanted.
If the world is not on fire with our love, then who put out the Light?
The world teaches us to work hard in order to get ahead. We learn to be self sufficient, to put our own needs and wants above others. To plan for our future and the future of our children, this is all well and good but it falls apart if that is all we do.
What is the Gospel message?
The message of the Gospels is the opposite to what the world teaches us. Christ's message is that we make ourselves vulnerable, that we go the extra mile not for ourselves or even our families but for complete strangers.
Give to everyone who asks of you, and from the one who takes what is yours do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you. For if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do the same...Be merciful, just as (also) your Father is merciful. Luke 6:30-36
We spend hours in prayer in a longing to love Jesus with all our hearts which is commendable, but do we leave it there? How do we show Jesus love? By loving the unlovable's in our midst.
"Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' but not do what I command? I will show you what someone is like who comes to me, listens to my words, and acts on them. Luke 6:46-47
Can you imagine growing up never knowing a mother or a father's love, never to be hugged? Can you imagine standing alone while people choose what child they wish to adopt? What was wrong with me? Was it my hair? Am I not pretty enough, not the right colour, too tall, too short? Can you imagine being rejected because you are you?
Do you see the youth standing on the corner selling herself or himself because we sold out?
Religion that is pure and undefiled before God and the Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained by the world. James 1:27
Do you hear the unheard cry of the rejected? Do you see the pain of the one whose love was not wanted and not needed and they know this. Their eyes are a mirror, for in them we see they do not care, for we did not care.
If we do not hear their unheard cries or see the tears shed, God has heard their cries and seen their tears. God also see's us when we avert our eyes from the unwanted one's.
And raising his eyes toward his disciples he said: "Blessed are you who are poor, for the kingdom of God is yours. Blessed are you who are now hungry, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who are now weeping, for you will laugh. Luke 6:20-21.
Can we imagine a pain so great that we wish to obliterate ourselves? The homeless and unloved know this pain and it is killing them. To these broken souls Heaven is too far away and hell to near.
When did hope die? Hope dies when we stop caring.
Perhaps when we are faced with the unwashed, the unloved, the faceless spectre of the homeless is God saying to each of us, how much do YOU love ME?
Will we fail to see Him in them?
But the one who listens and does not act is like a person who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the river burst against it, it collapsed at once and was completely destroyed." Luke 6:49.
I was inspired to write this article by a post done by Stu at Tears of a Clown and Half the Kingdom. Thank you both.

China Must Get Out of Africa

China has a large and growing economic relationship with much of Africa. In the 10 years to 2005, two-way trade between China and Africa increased tenfold to US$32 billion.
With China's economy growing by an average nine per cent a year for the past decade, Africa has become an important source of mineral resources, agricultural products, timber and, most important of all, oil.
China undoubtedly has leverage over Africa and has directly benefited from it. But is it prepared to use its leverage to achieve political and human rights changes?
When the true horror of Darfur became clear to the world many foreign oil companies opted to leave Sudan, pressured by activists and governments in North America and Europe. China's state-owned oil companies felt no such pressure and quickly stepped into the breach. China soon became the single largest investor in Sudan, mainly in its oil sector. Military hardware followed, soon becoming a major export. Read More by clicking HERE.
